Android-based Application for Batak Toba Traditional Wedding Ceremony Procedures

Abstract

Batak Toba traditional weddings are a tradition rich in cultural values and have unique and sacred procedures. However, the development of the times and technology often causes the younger generation to lack understanding and fail to carry out these traditions correctly. Therefore, this study aims to develop an Android-based application that can provide complete guidance on the procedures for Batak Toba traditional wedding ceremonies. This application is designed to provide interactive and easily accessible information to users, from the initial stage to the final stage of the wedding procession, such as martumpol, marhata sinamot, to the unjuk party. The application development method used is the Waterfall method with stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. This application is expected to be a solution in preserving Batak Toba culture and facilitating the community, especially the younger generation, in understanding and implementing wedding procedures in accordance with customs. Application testing shows that the application functions well and has received positive responses from users as a medium for cultural education
